Silas Wood Society’s Monthly Gathering
5.30 - 8.00
Silas Wood (1769-1847) was a U.S. Representative and Long Island’s first historian. The Huntington Historical Society holds their monthly meeting of the Silas Wood Society on the third Thursday of every month at historically significant venues in the Long Island area. In August the group will be meeting at the Walt Whitman Birthplace on August 19 at 5:30 PM. Long-Islanders, 35 and above, wishing to share their interest in local history are welcome to join the group for light refreshments and stimulating conversation, and a tour of the Birthplace.
