Walt Whitman Birthplace State Historic Site and Interpretive Center
Victorian Valentine Workshop
Children ages seven and up will be delighted as they create a Victorian Reticule—a small purse that swings from the wrist. The reticule will be used as an envelope for a poem written for someone special by the young Valentine crafter. The workshop will be in two parts, a pretty craft from Walt Whitman’s time (he was a Victorian after all!) and poetry writing, so appropriate for Valentine’s Day! There will be lots of examples and assistance and fun for all under the direction of Anne Kingsbury, published poet and experienced art instructor.
1 PM Admission $9.75 per child
The fee includes all craft materials, such as lace doilies, ribbons, and colorful papers, etc.
