Summer Writing Immersion

Tuesday, July 27, 2010 - Saturday, July 31, 2010
10.00 - 12.00

Do you know a student in 7th -12th grade who loves to write? Our Summer Immersion will give budding poets the opportunity to write in the place where America’s poet Walt Whitman was born while bringing their work to a higher level.

This writing immersion is suited for any student writer from seventh grade to high school who loves to write and would like to pursue it further. The program will actively explore creative new sources of inspiration. Students develop and strengthen their writing skills in fun, inspiring, and unexpected ways, and become better equipped to revise and improve.

The instructor, Annabelle Moseley, will provide one-on-one attention and adjust, critique, and craft discussion to suit each writer’s current level. Each student will find new avenues of inspiration and write compelling new work.

By the end of the week immersion students will have developed a portfolio of “finished” and polished poems. The final day, Saturday, will culminate in the honor of a student reading. This honor is sure to enhance any college application.
