This ticket entitles one non-member to audit a Zoom workshop exploring practices that combine imagery and text in compelling ways to deepen the expressive power of both. Find out how words and art change each other to make a new meaningful hybrid mode/form. Participants and auditors will experiment with techniques and approaches to creating artwork that incorporates text. We’ll also look at examples of artists who blend images and word well. Q&A sessions will follow the exercises. Experienced and beginner artists/writers equally welcome. Participants will have the ability to ask questions during exercises and share their progress during the workshop. Auditors will share their work at the end of the program.
This workshop led by Artistic Director of The Acting Center in New York City Karen De Mauro & Visual Artist and WWBA Events & Media Director Caitlyn Shea.
Attendees will provide their own supplies: Computer paper, pencil, pen – plus familiar color supplies of your choice (ie: colored pencils or watercolors with mixed media paper.)
Attendees will bring their own art image or photo to combine with the William Blake quote: “To see a World in a Grain of Sand. And a Heaven in a Wild Flower. Hold Infinity in the palm of your hand. And Eternity in an hour.”
Join us in exploring the relationship between word and image!
Register as either a Participant or as an Auditor.
