WWBA is delighted to present Conversations Between Words & Images: A Workshop led by Artistic Director of The Acting Center in New York City, Karen De Mauro and Co-Led by Visual Artist and WWBA Events & Media Director Caitlyn Shea.
Explore practices to combine imagery & text in compelling ways that deepen the expressive power of both. Make new meaningful hybrid mode/forms. In each session participants experiment with different writing techniques & approaches to create artwork that incorporates both. Examples of artists who blend images and words well are presented as prompts to encourage participants to develop a personal style.
Experienced and beginner artists/writers equally welcome.
For the 1st session bring your favorite materials (watercolor, paper, notebook, markers, pens, etc.) & art image or photo to combine with William Blake quote:
“To see a World in a Grain of Sand. And a Heaven in a Wild Flower.”
